During his brisk walk through the north-south portion of the main hallway, von Karma had passed by a few people standing around, apparently waiting for others. However, since they were no one he knew nor cared about, he paid them no attention. It was of utmost importance that he reach his destination in a timely manner without a single needless distraction.

Rounding the corner, he passed the stairwell and headed east.
