“Monsters…” He couldn’t hide some of his disbelief in his voice. Part of the disbelief came from the fact that he didn’t think this was entirely real, the other part came from the fact that he was starting to accept that all of this might be possible, and somehow, someway, there really were monsters. This was the sort of thing he used to think about when he was younger. Protecting his friends from monsters and acting like a hero. Now that he was an adult, he didn’t feel like much of a hero and he’d be happier if his friends never came across any danger.
“This is going to be a long night, isn’t it? At least things will start to make sense tomorrow.” Time travel, interdimensional travel, monsters…whatever else the institute had in store for him, couldn’t be that much of a shock. As Lelouch knocked on the door, he turned around and kept a watch out. He hadn’t read the book yet, but he could probably hold off whatever came after the two of them until Lelouch could look up the weak spot. Knowing Lelouch, he probably had most of the weak spots memorized by now.
As he waited, he stole a glance over his shoulder. It was bad enough that the two of them were here, but knowing that Nunnally was here ate at him. What if something jumped out and attacked her before they could get to her? He doubted the institute allowed her to have her wheelchair from back home. It wouldn’t surprise him if she was given one that barely worked. His eyes narrowed slightly as he thought about what he’d do to the Head Doctor whenever he ran into him. Then he looked ahead again.
