Bucciarati slowly rose from the bed and rubbed his temples. The nurses must have drugged him somehow, because he couldn't remember a single thing happening yesterday past the bus ride in. He seemed to be uninjured, but it was still unnerving that he could be put out of commission so easily. He would have to focus and work harder if he was ever going to escaped this damned institute.

As he slowly got out of bed, he heard a knock. Soon thereafter, a nurse opened the door and peeked her head inside.

"Good morning, Michelangelo!" she said cheerfully, "I hope you slept well!"

"Oh, I certainly did!" Bucciarati laughed, stretching his arms above his head as he got to his feet, "In fact, I slept like a baby! I fear that if you hadn't knocked on my door just now, I would have kept sleeping and wasted the entire day away in bed!"

The nurse laughed softly at Bucciarati's joke and led him to the hallway. Once they reached a branch in the hall, she turned back to Bucciarati.

"Well, Michelangelo, you have two choices right now." she said, "You can either go to the chapel for the first shift of the day, or you can go to the sun room. What would you like to do?"

"I think I'll go to the chapel for now." Bucciarati said smiling. On the inside, however, he was thinking of his friends back in Italy. There was little he could do to help them here besides escaping as soon as possible, but it was going to be a long while indeed before he managed that. For now, the most he could do was pray.

As he entered the chapel, Bucciarati gave the sign of the cross and muttered under his breath.

"In nomine patri, et fili, et spiritu sancte. Amen." he whispered as he walked down the aisles looking for a seat. He finally spotted a woman sitting alone. Perhaps she was praying as well?

"Hello," Bucciarati said politely as he sat down next to her, "Do you mind if I sit next to you?"
