There were a couple of people lingering in the hallway, as usual, but not too many. He could hear the storm still going even out here and he wondered how long it was going to last. All night, probably, but until the next morning?

Then again, it seemed like the morning was when the reset button was hit.

He glanced over at Peter, moving briskly down the hall. "Did you have something you needed to do tonight? 'Cause the files can wait, they're not that important."

He hadn't known Peter would be with him when he'd said that, after all. The files were needed; it would help if he had them, at least, and it certainly wouldn't hurt. But he had a feeling it wouldn't be telling him anything he didn't already know. It sure as hell wouldn't hold any answers to the deal. If he had to admit, having them on his priority list was largely a way to do something instead of sitting around.

Anyway, frankly, he'd rather if Peter got whatever it was he intended to do out of the way while Sam was here to watch his back. Whatever Sam had to do, he could easily do it on his own or with Dean.
