When Zack first heard someone say his name, he'd thought it was all in his head. It wouldn't have been the first time, after all. He had been forced to find ways to keep himself aware of what was going on during his time in the mansion. A lot of it he had been spent in and out of consciousness, but in those conscious moments he'd had to fight to not lose himself.
It was possible that Cissnei was one of the people who he'd "heard" during that time. Just thinking back on things she'd said, little conversations they'd had that hadn't actually amounted to anything.
But then the voice kept talking, and then she walked up to him. Zack could feel a presence behind him, though it was a subtle one. A trained professional, in other words.
Zack spun around to face her, and when he took in her features he realized that nothing had changed. It was weird to see the Turk out of her uniform, but everything else was exactly as he remembered from the last time he'd seen her. Gongaga, when she'd promised to watch over his parents.
"Cissnei," he greeted, and he let his tone show just how shocked he was. "Can't say I was expecting to find you here." The fact that she had a matching smiley meant that she was just as much of a prisoner as he was. Unless she was undercover, but he hoped not. "Guess this really isn't Shin-Ra's doing, then," he commented, hand on his hip. He'd already come to that conclusion earlier in the day, but it was still worth mentioning.
