People. He could see people. That was definitely a good thing- monsters were less likely to jump out and attack lots of people, right? At least it meant there was more noise around, there was nothing worse than silence for stimulating an overactive imagination. Just a little way back and Kibitoshin could have sworn he'd heard spider's footsteps.

H-hah... that was crazy. What was he thinking? Spider's footsteps? That would have to be one big spider for him to have heard it at all. And that was just plain silly, of course. Spiders didn't get that big no matter what planet you were on. Hopefully.

...

... what Badou had said about the cats... that didn't apply to the spiders, right? Just because he'd maybe accidentally squashed one or washed one down a plughole, that didn't mean they'd be out for his blood as killer mutants, right? Right?

He fell back against the wall, swallowing hard. Every moment he spent here was a moment off his life expectancy- he was going to have a heart attack from sheer nervous energy if he didn't get out soon. Please don't let me be alone out here...!
