The lucentien's skin (though it was more like armor) continued to gleam unnaturally as it threw its body forward, its movements illogical for its human-like form. Its mouth gaped open, but the lack of teeth meant that most of its danger was in its long knife-claws.
She wasn't running, which was best, as the monster wasn't one for chases. Instead it let out a guttural noise and almost stumbled forward, flinging an arm out in an attempt to slash at any part of the patient that its claws could reach as it closed the distance between them.
The girl was alone. This would most likely be an easy kill, if she truly did choose to stay and fight.
