"Is that okay?" she asked, looking sort of sheepish. It seemed selfish, she supposed, to get them just for her if his was working, but it would probably help them in the long run, especially if they could find lots of batteries.

"I think there's a closet upstairs that has them." She knew where a lot of things were, come to think of it. After all their nighttime travels, it was hard not to remember. "It shouldn't be very far and it's inside, so maybe it'll be okay."
