Familial pride was nothing to a man of Kristoph's caliber. The truly worthwhile made a name for himself and himself alone. Ironically a result of Gavin care and guidance, but the fact still applied. Furthermore, the famed von Karma died prior to Kristoph's rise to fame. He could forgive the man for his ignorance.

Kristoph chuckled. "The defense, if that is important." A decision he was admittedly proud of. Too many stalwart law students settled for the restrictive, unchallenged life of a prosecutor; he was none of the sort. "No longer as...well, considering our current circumstances."
