"Right. That's why it never got far past the 'talking' stage." The weapons-makers probably had enough work on their hands making actual swords and knives and everything. Just commissioning a couple of enormous antennae would have been a nightmare. The institute probably had a few geniuses who could make the rest of the electronic equipment, but getting it out into the field . . . ? Not with all of the monsters everywhere.

So much for that brilliant idea.

There just weren't enough solid pieces to fix this problem. That was the real issue, and even though the Institute was eerily obliging in letting them keep their ill-gotten gains, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary about them. "I guess we're back to looking through assorted rooms, then. Unless you have a better idea."
