Waka got up with what dignity he could muster, making a dramatic showing of brushing himself off before sitting down beside Amaterasu. "You don't really want to know what's coming, anyway," he declared airily. "Why take a journey if you already know what awaits you? It would take all the fun out of things, and far be it from I, a humble prophet, to deprive you." He managed to say 'humble' with an almost-straight face. "Or to sully a goddess' reputation under false pretenses."
He'd managed to stop laughing, but Waka was still smiling; it was hard not to be affected by the happiness of the gods. Besides, he could think of only one explanation for why Amaterasu had suddenly become so affectionate towards him, and it was one that he liked. "So you've finally remembered me, ma cherie?" he inquired. "I was beginning to think you'd forgotten for good."
