Howl's eyes skimmed his map briefly, confirming that he was heading in the direction of the appointed meeting place. He had truly been clinging to his denial all day, but the onset of the night corroborated the horror story. No, it would have been far too easy if he had simply been institutionalized. It seemed much more fitting for Howl's luck to have dumped him into this mess. He could imagine everyone back at home getting a good laugh out of him being trapped in a monster-infested asylum, complete with a humiliating uniform, while trying to skip back to Ingary.
