The nurse examined his arm. Indeed, aside from an older injury, the boy was perfectly fine.

She breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness. That did still leave the other patient's claim, however. Given his shocked expression, she was concerned to say that it was entirely possible he believed he had seen it happen. It was unfortunate, but it happened.

"As you can see," she said, "Alan is unharmed, so you have nothing at all to worry about, Mr. Gilmour. I expect there should be no more trouble now that this misunderstanding has been cleared up."

She smiled encouragingly at the both of them.
