If X was pleased with himself for making a small boy cry, he didn't show it. Instead, he just kept a polite smile on his face and slid the ignored card back down to join the rest of them. If Brainiac was not going to take it, there was little he could do. "Precisely," he answered, clasping his hands together. "I suppose I should take my leave, then." He resisted the urge to pat him on the head before turning on his heel and giving a small, careless wave as he walked away.

That was that, then. Really, he wasn't as trusting as to think the boy would give up that easily, but if it came to sabotaging 5's hand, then no one could say he gave no warnings. Without anything else to occupy his time with, the Gambler moved on to find a nice couch to rest on and visit with Tyche. She must have had such a busy night!
