DAY 43: CAFETERIA, MORNING
Where was Blitzwing?
Lugnut ignored the nurse's fussing over his foot, even as it howled objections to his ill treatment of it the night before, pounding through the town in search of his wingmate, reportedly helpless and injured by an attack the night before-- and not finding him, not seeing even a glimpse of his crazy triple-changing ally.
Snarling at the nurse, but restraining himself from shows of violence-- Blitzwing would mock him if he showed up drugged already, and he would be useless to Megatron like that--he made his way impatiently to the cafeteria, stopping for just long enough to post an urgent notice on the board.
Where was he?
Looming in the middle of the cafeteria, he took the tray the nurse handed him (filled with disgusting human fuel, didn't she know he didn't have time to eat, not when his wingmate was missing?) and ignored it, watching for Blitzwing, where was he?
He refused to think about what might have happened to a wheelchair-bound, drugged, incapacitated warrior, with the swarms of monsters flooding around him, clawing and biting...

After a quick pause though, the cheer dropped a margin. "Interesting day we're having so far, huh."

Honestly, he really didn't want to think about last night, but it had made him concerned. And if there was anyone he could talk to about those concerns, it was Yukari. She was the one who he'd made plans with after having visitors, she was the one who he'd told about his dad, and she was the one who was in the same boat as him. Out of anyone he knew, she might be the only one who would understand.
"Those zombies," he started, frowning slightly. Exchanging pleasantries and smalltalk would have been a lot nicer, but he forced himself to continue. "Those were the people from the town, weren't they? Do you think that…"
Maybe he couldn't bring himself to say it after all: 'do you think the visitors might be the same?'

"Creepiest thing I ever had to go through," Yukari responded exasperatedly. There were plenty of creepy things she had seen and done, both back home and in the institute, but never in her wildest dreams would she have imagined they would all end up in a zombie invasion. Of all things, really. "The good thing is that at least everyone I was with ended up all right." For the most part. She was still a little worried over Junpei, even if his injury didn't seem too bad. "You're okay too, right?" Thankfully he looked it, from what Yukari could tell so far.
When Kaito trailed off, Yukari paused for a long moment. She couldn't quite grasp what he had in mind right away, but eventually she got it, considering the biggest concern between the both of them: getting outside during the night and seeing what was out there so they could find out who was posing as their visitors.
Well, if there was one thing they managed to see, it what was out there and beyond during nighttime. If that happened every night...
Yukari frowned as well, and it was obvious this was a train of thought she prayed wasn't the right one. "I don't know," she admitted softly. "I sorta expect that to happen here, but in the town, too? I really hope this isn't it, but if they're anything alike or related at all... Does that mean everyone is just a bunch of monsters in the end?"

It seemed like Yukari got was he had been trying to say, which was a relief. Wondering about it was bad enough, but actually saying the words out loud was difficult... It was as though the idea would be more real, or somehow true, if he said it.
"Maybe if they're not in Doyleton, they're okay," he suggested hopefully, though he had a sinking feeling that probably wasn't the case. After all, his dad, and Yukari's dad, they had already died. Maybe the people in Doyleton were the same, and night just... showed them for what they really were. "It may just be wishful thinking, but I don't want to think that everyone is... is really dead, or undead, or monsters."
