Yesterday was a horrible, hideous mess. For the million things that had gone wrong, she could still point out a handful of things, important things, that had gone right. It left her feeling more than a little confused. And as she assessed the state of her room and her belongings, she noticed the clothing from yesterday had been replaced with the standard uniform, though she did still have one of the hand-axes from last night, nothing else remained. Well, isn't that convenient? First they think we're so weak that weapons won't matter, but now that we get our hands on some decent ones, they take most of them away! Make up your minds, you stupid bastards!
Sakura tucked the weapon away, wrapping it in a shirt before sticking it under her mattress. The message this morning was strange too. She hadn't been her long, but she knew well enough that it wasn't what they ought to have heard. Sakura memorized the important bits and followed her nurse to the cafeteria as had become the standard.
On any given day, Sakura might find herself up to her elbows in blood and gore, some hers, some her team-mate's, some her enemies, so eating breakfast the very next day didn't bother her much. Apparently the nurse wanted her to branch out and make new friends though, so she escorted Sakura to a particularly lonely looking individual who was sitting face-down, head almost in his breakfast. Great.
"Morning," she offered, deciding not to mention last night's events just yet. If the guy needed cheering up, that was probably the last thing he wanted to think about.
