Kurogane ignored their comments to his ability to drive, since for some reason both ended up annoying him. Driving was easier than riding a horse; what was so surprising about being able to do it? But that didn't matter. As long as he could, that was enough. He just hoped there would be a way to get the pieces of metal working once they got to them.

When the boy finally gave a heading, Kurogane nearly moved in the opposite direction, but he had no better bearing than to go by what someone else even thought was the right way. "Then that's where we're going. Stay behind me and keep up," he told them before starting into a faster pace to move just ahead.
