"Gyahh!" It was a short yelp about an octave higher than one would expect from him. ZEX's hand had barely managed to touch his when Kanji yanked his hand back reflexively, like he'd gotten shocked. The rest of him scooted away in a motion bordering on flailing. The slight distance wasn't really helping his absolute panic in any way though. He wasn't even trying to hide his expression at this point.

He probably would have flipped out completely if it wasn't for that lone 'human' comment. That was enough to give Kanji slight pause so he could do something like stop and think. Even if he was just even more confused.

"H-Human?" he repeated still taken aback by the whole situation. "Wha... What're you talkin' about?"

Yes. Talk about that. Talk about something else. Do something that's not giving him that look and making him feel like his face was burning.
