"You're delusional." This was winding him up, she could see it. Like a string around a spinning top, except this spinning top was sharp and shiny and dangerous, and not in a good way. Yuffie smirked, smug as can be -- and then she moved.

You didn't live long as a ninja if you couldn't read your opponent. It was vital, almost as important as having a heartbeat or breathing. You also didn't live long if you didn't have the speed to react to what you read; luckily for Yuffie, she had speed by the bucket load.

She couldn't let him herd her; couldn't let him keep her trapped. His fingers closed around her wrist, but she disengaged the lock before he could get a firm hold, trying to reverse it so that she had a hold on him. She didn't try to hold the lock, though, instead following the momentum he was giving her and trying to use it as a weapon; Yuffie used the tree as a springboard to launch her counterattack-- a harsh kick aimed at Kadaj's face, coupled with a spin that would take her away from the tree and--hopefully--out of immediate range. If he wanted to get at her, he was gonna have to work for it!
