Hughes was picking at his food, looking altogether rather unconcerned. Impatient perhaps, because he honestly did have a good deal of things he wanted to get done while he had the time. After brunch brought those damned family visits, and now that he'd heard what had happened in the chapel...
He wanted someone to tell him what had happened. And then he needed to catch up with Alfons, and with Roy, and probably with Reno again.... there was too damn much to do and not nearly enough time to do it in.
Every now and again he glanced up to scan the mess hall, looking for familiar faces. He knew who he could count on to show up, but there were some....
His eyes caught sight of a figure - that was, actually looking at him - and his eyes first widened and then narrowed - curiously, cautiously. He felt a smal shiver run along his spine, that feeling that had always been described as someone walking over your grave.
For a moment, he wished he wasn't sitting by himself.
