The card was flipped over, and Ten, for once, had no words. He merely stared at the paper and plastic as though it was going to slide out of the boy's hands and gut him.
The eight of hearts was staring right back at him, and it took a bit to notice his mouth had opened without the words to come out. He cleared his throat after a bit, and the Gambler made sure to act as though such an image of him even appearing surprised was mistaken; he hadn't the heart to be surprised, anyway. He brushed his hair back with his empty hand before regarding the card once more, still a bit… bothered by the message it gave.
