There was still no pain yet, and the numbing sensation of the ice helped to clear his mind. The low, throbbing pain that still came from his slowly-healing stomach wound was gone, replaced with a nothingness. It was actually an advantage, despite the ice reducing his mobility. He needed his mind more than his body now, after all.
When the next attack came, he was ready. Bracing, he took the hit full in the chest, grimacing as it connected. But with his feet well planted, he didn't lose his balance this time. And he could still walk. Logan's breath was shallow, rapid, as his organs began to cool beneath the skin. Some days it felt like there were just as many disadvantages as advantages to having a metal-laced skeleton - the last time he fought out here, he was fried, this time he was being frozen, and both times the adamantium made it worse. But as long as he could still walk and talk...
The mutant's head snapped up as he saw Falis lunge for Ami, his left hand clenching into a fist. Her acid-laced words brought him back to the fight at hand. "Wha' kinda warrior you sposedta be?!?" He spat suddenly in return, his tone dripping with both contempt and impatience. It was possible that she was just some inexperienced kid who'd happened to stumble across a sword, but the way she held it; it was obvious she'd had at least some training, no matter how rudimentary. "If ya can' see, use yer other senses! Basics, kid!" True, he had a far greater advantage than most when it came to other senses, but still, there was much an ordinary human could do, even without their eyes.
"Ya mean ya coul'n' hear her yellin' away like tha'?" It was almost as if their attacker had been forgotten for the moment as he continued his tirade. "Or tha fog makin' ya deaf, too?" Logan was getting angry now, but at least he was focusing that away from Ami. He was almost on top of the pair, although he was seriously doubting what he could do to subdue her with just one arm. Still, between the two of them, he and Falis might be able to put her down. "Watch tha mouth, kid." He said to Falis, his tone a little softer as he struggled to maintain his composure. "I don' know if she's a witch, a mutan', or wha', bu' righ' now she's a danger ta herself n' ta anyone else ou' here." He looked down at Ami as he kept walking. "We're gonna ge' ya someplace safe, darlin'" He soothed, whilst already bracing for another attack.
