Kenshin was ready to go as soon as the doors unlocked. He had failed in his assignment the night before, had completely ignored it in order to search fruitlessly for Yahiko, and he did not want to do the same tonight. He found it rather odd that Homura had seen fit to put him with Shito, someone that he had no experience with, but he supposed that with Sano and Yahiko gone, he no longer had a default "team" to spend the night with. Yuffie didn't count, of course. She wasn't officially affiliated with the History Club, and probably would never be. She struck the rurouni as the type who was strictly freelance.

As soon as the announcement came (and a very odd, ominous one it was at that), Kenshin was out the door and on his way to the arranged meeting place.
