kingside: (the thinker)

Lelouch didn't like the look of Suzaku advancing on him with a box cutter in hand at all, but when he'd considered that he might need to cut the shirt off himself at some point-- damn it, why did his knight have to reach the same conclusion? He stubbornly clung to the bottom of his shirt regardless, but with Suzaku bending over him and grabbing his collar-- what did he think he was doing? The idea that his knight might mean to kill him never entered Lelouch's thoughts, though, and when the grip on his shirt loosened, he finally dropped his hands to his sides and tried very hard not to blush. This was so humiliating. Why did Suzaku always have to embarrass him like this?

There was a long silence while Lelouch tried to settle on a response to Suzaku's question, and although he knew that the pause would make him seem guilty, the truth was that he simply wasn't sure if this particular truth was one he should tell right now. It would have been worse to discuss Euphy, he supposed, but in some ways, this was no better. He didn't regret it and would do it again in an instant, but there had been a reason he'd kept it a secret from most of the Black Knights and was hesitating to reveal it now. If it meant Suzaku would trust him, though...

"... After Shirley died, I tracked down the headquarters of the Geass Order," he said, his voice soft. "I made it my mission to destroy every last man, woman, and child there, including V.V. The very heart of Geass, the root of all that evil, was destroyed on that day to prevent the same tragedies that had befallen her and everyone else from happening again.

"You don't need to tell me how wrong that power is, Suzaku."
