Re: Outside M31

Suzaku resisted the urge to grind his teeth together again. Lelouch was being absolutely impossible, and it was obvious he wasn't going to budge on this issue. Normally Suzaku wouldn't either and they'd get locked in yet another of those battles of stubbornness, but things were different now. Suzaku might protest to a certain point, but when it came down to it he was bound to obey. He had to capitulate eventually, because he didn't want to cross the insubordination line to an unforgivable extent.

And yet, once they reached Lelouch's room -- Suzaku knew he should let Lelouch get some rest, lick his wounds in private, but he just couldn't. He couldn't stand being treated this way after everything that had happened the night before, even if Lelouch was offended at how angry he'd obviously been earlier. This wasn't right, and it couldn't continue. This was still only the first day of his knighthood, after all, and as much as he liked to think he could jump straight into serving his former enemy without a complaint, it was too soon and he still needed some kind of assurance that he was doing the right thing. He'd thought he could trust Lelouch, but now there were uncomfortable doubts, and with their relationship so fragile he couldn't let Lelouch close himself off. He wouldn't let him go without a fight.

And so, before Lelouch could leave and before he could second-guess himself, Suzaku impulsively reached out and grabbed Lelouch's arm. "Stop it," he said in a low voice. He shouldn't need to explain what he was referring to.
