"That's what it sounds like," Guy confirmed. While he knew that Landel was basically having them run through a series of hoops, he still wanted to believe that it would lead to something helpful in the end. Maybe that was just him fooling himself, but quite a few other patients seemed to feel the same way about it.

It was good to have Anise's support, and while Guy would have liked to have her along, he didn't want to put her in too much danger when she didn't have Tokunaga to rely on. (Well, she had him back now, but it wasn't like he could transform here.) Besides, it seemed like she had other plans a lot of the time.

"I don't really know how it's going to turn out, to be honest, but I'll keep you informed," he assured her. "I'm also going to talk to Luke about it next shift, if all goes well." He didn't think it would be that hard to find his friend, but things had come up in the past and interrupted meetings. It was possible Luke had therapy or something like that.

"How about you, Anise?" Guy continued. "What are you up to tonight?"
