"Harder, but not impossible," Okita stressed with a deceptively innocent smile. He looked over at Peter then and gave him a conspiratory wink - as if the guy would ever help him. He doubted it, seeing how well Peter had taken to teasing in the showers, but it never hurt to play. "I like a challenge."
Mention of the list that had gone up and the description that had also caught Okita's eye, brought his attention back to the real conversation at hand. The man who Okita had seen leaving Homura's room the night before had to be the one noted on the list. Okita had suspected it before, but this confirmed it. He'd also seen Homura speaking with him on several occasions since then, so he was obviously someone of note. Perhaps it was time to find a way to eavesdrop on one of his conversations, too.
There had once been a girl here who had touted such electrical powers (or so he'd heard), so Okita could only guess that her death was directly related to Sylar having picked them up. What other powers he had would remain a mystery for now, but Okita was certain he could go back through the board and pick out names of those who had been murdered and try to correlate them to those who had powers. Without a clear idea of what Sylar looked like or what powers he had, facing him was dangerous.
Okita was about to reply when he heard a familiar voice ring out over the usual cafeteria din. What was Yuffie shouting about now? Victory? Hope? Wait, crossdressing? Unable to surpress a giggle at her gall in giving such a speech in clear line of sight of the nurses, he watched as the busybody staff soon flocked to her like moths to a flame. The swordsman smiled, his mind on the conversation at hand, but his eyes following Yuffie on the table. "If he should come after any of us, Peter-san, you can be assured we'll inform you. Although, as Homura-san will likely tell you in a moment, we're quite capable of defending ourselves."
