kingside: (please could you stop the noise)

"Resorting to threats now?" Lelouch countered mildly, his expression blank once more. Things had spun wildly out of control, and while Porky was hardly a threat even with the entirely accurate assumption that Lelouch had a power he wanted to keep hidden, the fact that he'd been able to uncover that much at all was infuriating. He'd underestimated him, and after going to such lengths to make sure that he didn't-- he'd have to proceed carefully from now on, observe Porky's actions more closely, identify this Commander he was associated with, and observe him as well. There were likely others already involved in similar efforts, considering how suspicious Porky was, but more couldn't hurt.

"Mr. Minch, I'm afraid I can't comply with your demands," he continued, somehow managing to give the impression that he was looking down on the man while remaining seated comfortably on the grass. "You're free to believe whatever you wish about my abilities, but if you honestly think that I'm going to lend you that sort of ammunition against me, you're sorely mistaken. It would be incredibly suspicious if you were to collapse for a second time during our conversation, wouldn't it? That combined with my so-called resentment towards you would make it all too easy for you to pretend that I was attacking you deliberately, and as I neither intend nor intended to do anything of the sort, I'm not going to indulge your childish fantasies by obliging you."

He stretched out on the grass and stared up at the sky, apparently dismissing Porky as not important enough to merit eye contact. "You may want to do more research into how powers are limited here, you know," he sighed, raising one hand to his head to shield his eyes from the glare of the sun. "I'd hate to see what other mistakes you end up making out of sheer ignorance." He shot him a sharp glance. "And no, that was not an invitation into my network. The truce stands, but I'm not allying myself with someone who all too readily tries to frame me."
