"That's two for me," Teisel panted, trying to get a deep breath past the pain in his side. "This all you're gonna do? I thought people like you were supposed to be smarter than people like me." Despite himself, a note of hurt crept into his voice at that last part. He was no mind reader, but he was well aware of what most people thought of him, his current opponent included. Stupid, stuck-up, self-important coward of a commander. If he'd had his armor, he'd have broken every bone in Van's body by now, without a doubt.
But armor or no, it was clear by now that Van wasn't as seasoned a brawler as he'd made himself appear. He kept trying to fight properly, which was a sure-fire way to lose against the underhanded tactics Teisel had picked up over the years. There was a way to fix that, though...
Still, given time to recover and think between attacks, Van might very well win (loath as Teisel was to admit it). Well, Teisel wasn't going to give him that time if he could help it. "What'cha thinking about, eh?" he growled, breath catching in his throat as pain shot through his bruised ribs. "Think about this!" Darting forward, he dove to tackle Van, slamming his full weight into the man shoulder first.
