Pictures that represented sounds? Diego had a hard time trying to wrap his mind around that one. Pictures could show ideas, yes, like the way sabers hunted. That was one of the few things humans had going for them. But the pictures of sabers looked like sabers. The curved line the human was pointing to didn't look anything like a sound.

"What does that mean, then?" he asked skeptically, indicating the words on the 'paper.' Diego doubted that the human was telling the truth. It was much more likely he was just having more fun at the saber's expense, and Diego wasn't going to take any more of that.
