Kvothe straightened the chess board between them and briskly began setting up the pieces. "We take turns moving pieces around," Kvothe said, calmly ignoring the demand for the moment. "I'd tell you how the pieces move but I doubt you'd care and it's for show anyway, just follow my lead." He fell silent for a moment as he put the last piece in place, then pushed a white pawn forward. "It's hard to prove I'm not a person when I don't know anything about them, and there's not a lot of ways to prove anything around here."
