Though he was still cautious as he walked the halls, he was simply going through the motions. In his line of work, they lost many, many people, though he held on to the belief that they saved more than were lost. Even so, it didn't make dealing with it any easier when it happened.
He was late to meet the others, but hurried his pace, not wishing to miss saying goodbye to another friend.
