It sounded strange when the woman switched from perfectly fluent Japanese to a slightly more obvious foreign accent. Still Japanese, but some of the little quirks and pronunciations made it obvious she wasn't native. However, since she hadn't made a big deal of his accent, he wouldn't tease her about hers.
