The fruit was much better and, though sweet, it countered the syrupy taste in Kurogane's mouth easily. Why couldn't that woman bring him stuff like this instead? It wasn't like she couldn't.

He was silent for a while, content with eating until he remembered something. He still didn't know this guy's name. Fai had probably given his own name away before, but giving his own name was better. Kurogane didn't care for others calling him as that magician did. "I'm Kurogane," he said simply, then bit another thing that reminded him of an apple where he was from.
