It hadn't occurred to Brainiac 5 that his insignia wouldn't be in place on his forehead still, but now that Xelloss had brought it to his attention, he found himself relieved that it hadn't been removed completely when he'd been altered to this human form. Without it there would have been no way to differentiate him from any other human, a decidedly unpleasant idea.
"These 'circles' are the insignia of both the Brainiac line and the Coluan people," Brainiac 5 explained, his tone condescending, though it was unclear if that was intentional or just normal for him. "Though I wouldn't expect you to understand the significance of either."
And Xelloss seemed determined to continue with the delusion that everything in this place was out to kill them. Brainiac 5 sighed heavily, not bothering to mask his annoyance with this idea. "So you intend for me to be afraid of everything I find in this place, on the mistaken belief it will somehow try and eat me? Not to mention as someone who is familiar with a range of species from other planets, hearing you declare that anything that doesn't seem human is dangerous seems remarkably xenophobic."
