That had been careless. Inwardly Kakashi kicked himself for the slip, but he was careful to let none of his self-aimed dismay show on his face. If Renamon was an enemy, as she very well could still be, Kakashi had just carelessly given away a vital piece of information. Of course, it wasn't something he was used to seeing: people who were supposed to be dead coming back to life.

But what was done was done. Now Kakashi just had to decide exactly what was safe to tell Renamon. Information that was commonly known would normally be the easiest choice, and so Kakashi went down that route for now. "We're from the same village." Which of them she had meant was still a mystery, but Kakashi would leave it to Renamon to clarify.

More importantly was what came next, and what didn't come next. "I'd appreciate that a great deal." Renamon was offering him information instead of coming over the table and attempting to kill him. It made it seem less likely that she was an enemy of the Leaf, but Kakashi still didn't let his guard down. He didn't want to die. Especially not for a second time, if it was possible. "Anything you're willing to tell me would be helpful."
