She spoke, which was probably the greatest relief, simply that she was still well enough to do that much. Ururu was strong and he'd never seen her so weak and wobbly. When she reached for him, he didn't have the heart to tell her that he wasn't the one she wanted. He couldn't make himself hurt her like that.

"It's alright Ururu," he managed, once he had breath to speak. It still sounded ragged, but at least he'd said it. With what little strength he still had, he helped her get closer, surprised by how sad and needy she seemed to be. His arms circled her back, though he was almost afraid to touch the little girl, afraid she might break.

When Kurogane spoke, he turned at the familiar sound, even dazed as he was. He knew that they were right, that they had to take Ururu to go lie down, but he could barely walk on his own two feet; if he tried to take Ururu too, he'd probably make it a grand total of three steps, if that, before he went crashing back down.
