Artemis knew precisely why this was a problem, even if Haku didn't see it. If Zabuza saw him touching, embracing or, God forbid, kissing Haku, he would be butchered alive. Zabuza had said it himself: if he came between them, Zabuza would kill him. Or at least ensure his death.
