tl;dr: 8( sucks to see you go. come visit sometime, k?

She expected Luxord to agree with that statement, being a Nobody who existed no more than she did, and perhaps spout off some age-old wisdom or change the subject to something slightly more cheerful.

So naturally, Naminé gave Luxord quite the surprised look when he agreed and told her that this was a path that he intended to take. Of course, even if they returned to their home world, Luxord and her would return to their respective Others; they would most likely never see each other again once they returned to their own universe.

But while the choice was simple (and actually better, she begrudgingly realized) for Luxord, it was not so for Naminé. She could see why Luxord made his choice, but to agree with it was one thing and to actually join him was...

"You, too?" Naminé didn't seem particularly outraged, nor upset. Not even disappointed; her voice just had a quiet tone to it that seemed to reek of sad realization. It really made her wonder: Did people really "give in", succumb to the lies found in this place, or did they really embrace them? Were the visits then not planned by the Head Doctor to lower their morale, but rather subtle attempts by former patients to show them one way out?

When Naminé thought about it that way, it made much more sense. And it did make her feel better. Yet she could not agree with it. Luxord was right, she and him were family in this world. She would even be able to see Soma. Sure, she'd have to adopt a new name and adapt to how this world worked, but she would be happy, right? Soma was happy, and Luxord sounded like he would be happy...

"You would come visit me too, right?"

No, Naminé could not go. To do so would make her a hypocrite; she had no right to value her existence after spending so much time assuring Roxas that giving up his was the right thing to do. And what of Kairi? She couldn't leave her Other incomplete. As appealing as it actually sounded to embrace those lies, Naminé knew that leading a false life would amount to no good.

For her, anyway.
