"What?" Dexter drew back as Max leaned closer, caught off guard by the other man's sudden change in mood. It would have been almost gratifying to see him suddenly so animated, if not for what he was actually saying. And to think, Dexter had been hurt not to be recognized. Now that he was seeing Max's delusions in action, he realized just how preferable that option was.
"Sir, stop this," he said firmly. "My name is Dexter Favin, not Dax or Dex or anything else. I'm not an alien, and neither are you. And you're not going to get out of here until you put these ridiculous fictions behind you."
