The wait in the library had been worth it, even if nothing had actually happened. He had stood around in the darkness allowing his mind to wander all over the place. It was one of those nights where he could just lose himself and still feel pleasant in the morning about his endeavours. Ah, he could certainly use a few more nights like that.
Waking up fresh, Hohenheim was pleasantly surprised to know that they would be going on an outing into a city. It appeared that it was customary for them to wear different clothes in order to appear in a public setting, and he had no problem doning the baggy plaid trousers with one of three buttons missing. There were rainbow coloured suspenders to go with it, but those were thankfully covered up by the well-worn argyle wool sweater. He wasn't even resistant to the french style wool beret, since this was clearly dress-up day.
He walked to the bus in question lead along by his cheerful nurse, investigating his bagged breakfast. It was quite wholesome, and he was looking forward to getting out of the institute for the day. Maybe there would be a nice park for him to sit down in?
Climbing aboard the bus, his helpful nurse pointed to a particular seat... with a particular person. He tipped his beret to the side and slowly made his way to the seat that seemed requested by his nurse. "It's okay. It's a short trip, Phillip. Conversation will do you both some good," she cheerfully added as he sat awkwardly next to his eldest son. "No fighting now!"
He looked at his son's interesting outfit - a skirt was it? - and smiled. "Good morning."
