Roy had a tendency to keep to himself in the showers -- not out of any particular shyness, but because he didn't need people asking him questions about his appearance. It was strange how easy it was to forgot about the red lines marking his body until he had to strip like this. He strode across the wet tile, sighing to himself as he eyed the bandages around his middle. He didn't want to remove them, since he didn't know what the state of his wound was and he wasn't sure if a nurse would re-wrap him afterward. But he didn't know how he could shower properly with them on...

He would just have to stand outside of the water's trajectory and go one limb at a time. It wouldn't be as complete of a washing as he would have liked, but he didn't need to aggravate his injury when it was already giving him a hard time.

Though there was one thing he could be glad about, and that was knowing that Kimbley was dead. It was strange to feel that way about someone's death, but seeing how the man shouldn't have been alive in the first place--

Then again, Hughes wasn't supposed to be, either.

It seemed terribly convenient that the other alchemist had lost his life right when Roy had been pinned with the task of having to kill him. He knew he shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but it made for mixed feelings on the whole matter. He was glad he didn't have to get his hands dirty, but then that just made him feel like a coward. With a sigh, the colonel turned on the water and waited for it to get hot enough for his liking.
