Beatrix was very grateful for Mason, but there was just somethings she couldn't tell the man. Sure, he reacted well to her having a daughter, that she couldn't find nonetheless, but what would he have done if she'd told him she'd been serial raped? That she used to kill people for a living? That she was most definitely a sociopath, as per the accepted definition of such? She had so much blood on her hands, blood that has stained her flesh, that she wondered if she had any right to hold her daughter anymore.

Yes. It was just as she told Hanyuu that morning. It didn't matter what she had to go through, the amount of pain and suffering she accepted or inflicted - it was all worth that one singular moment of happiness, of joy. Yes, she would do it all again. Yes, it was worth it. And now... now she had more suffering to endure. She'd had her moment of true happiness. Maybe that was all she was ever going to get. She would still fight for more, it was human nature after all, but she...

God, she wanted to hold her daughter. She wanted to kill Martin Landel. Actually... she just wanted to kill someone.

The Bride ate her food in quiet thought, eyes focused more on her tray than the room around her. For any that had come to know her, it was clear she wasn't in a good place. She rest her burnt arm in her lap and downed the fresh painkillers the nurses had given her. She really should get her mind off of her daughter but... she just couldn't. She needed her daughter before something she couldn't completely control snapped.
