Lia kept her own path steady along the right-hand wall rather than making a jagged progression. She noticed the passage of the other patients anyway, and wondered if it were meaningful that none of them were congregating here, unlike in the previous hallway. After brief contemplation she decided it didn't; they were likely all just in a hurry to get on with the plans they'd made for this brief span of almost-freedom.

She noticed Melissa pick up her pace as they neared the doors at the end of the hallway, and sped her own to match. Though there would be worse places to get separated, it would only slow them down, and they had little enough time as it was.

"Stick to the courtyard walls?" she suggested as she came up next to Melissa. She hadn't seen the courtyard yet herself, but disliked the idea of racing across a wide open space. It would be too exposed, too easy to get caught by someone or something. She wondered again if any Winds ran nearby, hidden from her deadened senses.
