Logan did his best to keep cool, but could feel the anger rising as the Spider spoke all the same. Easy, bub. Keep it ta'gether. He'd said the doctor 'knew too much', which just confirmed Logan's suspicions. He said so. "Soun's 'bout righ'" He growled. "I knew it. They know who we really are, wha' we c'n do. They know an' they wanna exploit us...somehow." It wasn't much to go on, but the puzzle's pieces were starting to fall into place. And this particular puzzle was far from fun. His scowl deepened at Parker's next line.
"Reincarnation, huh? Not impossible." He'd remember being told that he was a reincarnation himself. Of the Hand of God, no less. Of course, he didn't believe a word of it. His brow furrowed further at the notion of being given future memories. But then again, after the amount of mental tampering he'd gone through, he wasn't quick to dismiss that, either.
"Food fer though' kid, n' somethin' ta file away fer future discussion." He stiffened at the sound of the intercom. "Tha's our ride, pal. Stay safe out there, n' don' keep yer buddy waitin'. If we both make it through tha nigh'..." He smiled, confident they would. "I'll speak ta ya tomorrow. Keep yer eyes open." With that, the knife was out again, flush against his arm, his small frame already dropping into his favoured fighting stance. With one swiftm graceful move, the door was flung open, and he disappeared into the inky blackness beyond.
