"What, really?!" Luffy's eyes widened, and his voice raised with excitement. The whole coming from the future thing had only been a crazy guess (Luffy didn't think he could ever forget his own nakama!), but to think it was really true! Woah! Maybe his afro granted him time-traveling powers...

Oh man. This was so cool! Luffy had wanted a musician ever since they'd gotten their own ship! After all, what was a pirate crew without a musician to sing pirate songs with?

Except, what was this Lion-chan Brook had mentioned? It sounded like it was some kind of ship, but Merry wasn't anything like a lion. Weird. He was about to ask, but he dropped that train of thought as soon as the older man mentioned something that visibly startled the pirate.

"You were a skeleton? A real, walking, talking skeleton?!" He balled his hands into fists, thrilled beyond words at the image. A walking, talking skeleton with an afro who could play music, who was also probably a good person, not to mention really funny and interesting! No wonder his future self had asked Brook to join him! He would have punched himself if he hadn't! Maybe. Actually, thinking about that kind of made his head hurt, so he stopped.

"Of course you can still be our nakama!" he said with a laugh. "You never stopped being our nakama in the first place!" Sure Brook was from a future time, when his future self had invited him along, but that didn't change anything as far as the pirate captain was concerned. There were just some bonds that couldn't be broken by something like time.

"And anyway, I bet I would have asked you to join once we met here anyhow," he added with a grin.

As Brook debated on where to begin his story, if at all, Luffy tilted his head a little. He normally wasn't up for long stories, but he was sure Brook must have been on some pretty crazy adventures with the rest of the crew! Not that learning the future was one of Luffy's priorities -- he was a live-in-the-moment kind of guy, after all -- but if Brook had something he wanted to say, he wasn't going to stop him.
