Day 31: Sun Room (Fourth Shift)

Though perhaps not entirely as successful as he wanted it to be, Homura walked away from lunch feeling satisfied with his efforts. Roland and Fai both had shown interest in the goal, and that was enough for the moment. Homura could be patient, had already been for five hundred years, and felt no harm in waiting another five hundred if he had to. He would have his goals realized, no matter what obstacles he faced, be they from the prison or those trapped within.

But now was time for business of a different sort, and the demi-god made his way to the Sun Room, near the common board. He made sure he could be seen from the entrance to the cafeteria, knowing that one stranger and one member of his own group both wanted to meet with him. It worked out well enough, especially given that the stated purpose of the History Club was simple.

Revenge and escape.

For now, Homura had no intention of revealing that it'd grown more complicated than that.

"A pirate?" Rangiku asked incredulously. They had boats, didn't they? On the sea, breaking into other vessels. She shook her head. "Oh, no. I'm not a pirate. I'm a vice-captain of the Goeti 13, It's quite different." She wondered if they even had shinigami in his world. Her own didn't have pirates anymore after all, so why should theirs have shinigami?

The Goeti 13? Was that anything like the CP9? No comparing to his world. Right. It was so hard not to do! Sanji rubbed the back of his neck apologetically.

"I'm afraid I haven't heard of them," he said. "But, you know. Other worlds and all. So, what are they exactly?" Not part of the Marines, hopefully.

Well, it wasn't as though they were keeping it secret anymore. There was no need when there were so many people here who lived strange lives and could accept the presence of death gods.

"The Gotei 13 are the 13 squads of shinigami, death gods, who send human souls on after they die and cleanse corrupted souls. I'm the vice-captain of the 10th Division. Matsumot Rangiku."

"A god of death?" Sanji blinked in surprise. That was one he hadn't heard yet, he didn't think. Was she just messing with him? Then again, who knew with this place anymore.

"Well," the chef grinned. "If someone like you came to get me when I died, then I'd go to the afterlife happily!"
