Day 31: Sun Room (Fourth Shift)

Though perhaps not entirely as successful as he wanted it to be, Homura walked away from lunch feeling satisfied with his efforts. Roland and Fai both had shown interest in the goal, and that was enough for the moment. Homura could be patient, had already been for five hundred years, and felt no harm in waiting another five hundred if he had to. He would have his goals realized, no matter what obstacles he faced, be they from the prison or those trapped within.

But now was time for business of a different sort, and the demi-god made his way to the Sun Room, near the common board. He made sure he could be seen from the entrance to the cafeteria, knowing that one stranger and one member of his own group both wanted to meet with him. It worked out well enough, especially given that the stated purpose of the History Club was simple.

Revenge and escape.

For now, Homura had no intention of revealing that it'd grown more complicated than that.

Kaoru copied he's brothers actions and greeting perfectly.
Yagami Light, the guy pretending to be nothing but a perfect role model, was dating this.... this. It was pretty, but it didn't seem so bright. She must satisfy some of Light's special needs. And she was probably a massive ego stroke too, come to think of it.
He looked to his brother, there was no way Hikaru was letting Light get away with this.

"The only thing he's King of is fools."
Admittedly the twins and the rest of the Host Club occasionally fell under that category.

Kaoru smiled to Misa, opting to be kinder to her now. If only to try and understand and destroy her all the better. "Misa, you're cute! I bet Light-san has a hard time keeping you to himself!"

All right, so maybe he'd been better off before they'd interrupted. At least then she hadn't been tugging at him as much.

He ran his free hand through his hair, looking distinctly uncomfortable now that the twins were, however subtly, interrogating Misa. It was all too easy to guess what they were thinking, and while he honestly couldn't fault them for some of it, that didn't make the rest any less aggravating. He didn't like being judged on partial information, but since it was better than the alternative, it wasn't like he could say as much, was it?

That wasn't Light's main concern, though; sooner or later, he just knew one of them was going to get the bright idea to start quizzing either him or Misa-- most likely Misa, judging by the way they were focusing on her now and by how much more likely it was that she'd let something potentially embarrassing slip-- on how they met, their relationship, and so on. With how much of that was tied into the Kira case, he knew most of it would have to be made up on the spot, and although he was fully capable of this, Misa wasn't. He'd likely need to interrupt at some point, and while he knew the twins wouldn't like that, with how much ammunition they were getting already, he was sure they'd be able to cope.

Well, there was a bit of information overload. Misa looked from one twin to the other, then to Light, then back to the twins again. What to answer first?

The more important one, of course.

"Of course not!" Misa addressed the one who spoke second. "How could you say something like that?! Light's my One True Love and the only person I could ever think of being with!" Thus saying, she pressed closer to Light as if assuring him that she was still there. Then, frowning severely, she turned to the other twin and muttered a quick: "And what do you mean? Are you saying Tamaki's not a real knight?"

She was so very confused.
