Day 31: Sun Room (Fourth Shift)
Though perhaps not entirely as successful as he wanted it to be, Homura walked away from lunch feeling satisfied with his efforts. Roland and Fai both had shown interest in the goal, and that was enough for the moment. Homura could be patient, had already been for five hundred years, and felt no harm in waiting another five hundred if he had to. He would have his goals realized, no matter what obstacles he faced, be they from the prison or those trapped within.
But now was time for business of a different sort, and the demi-god made his way to the Sun Room, near the common board. He made sure he could be seen from the entrance to the cafeteria, knowing that one stranger and one member of his own group both wanted to meet with him. It worked out well enough, especially given that the stated purpose of the History Club was simple.
Revenge and escape.
For now, Homura had no intention of revealing that it'd grown more complicated than that.

"Someone violated you last night and I'm sure as hell not going to let it go," she said. "No one does stuff like this and gets away with it, especially to my friends." She set her hand on her hip. "Plus, if it is a vampire, you may be infected with its curse, not just your own. The only way to make certain you won't turn is to kill the vampire."
"Which I intend on doing. So... let me see." The bounty hunter's words might be strong, but her eyes were soft; she really did care. Protecting people from magical creatures was what she was supposed to be doing.

Her cheeks blushed slightly red, "Y-you don't have to say it like that! No one violated me!" Her voice was a whisper, but hissed huffily through her teeth for emphasis.

With a touch much more gentle than one would expect from someone like the bounty hunter, Falis eased off the bandage and lightly inspected the wound. Her fingers were calloused from wielding a sword, even in this body, but she seemed to know what she was doing, what she was looking for.
Kagura seemed nervous. "Breathe easy," she said in a soft voice. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm almost done."
The wounds, twin punctures, were definitely spaced the right distance and were the right size for a vampire. The edges even looked, to the bounty hunter, like they had tried to heal some but never accomplished it. Probably because Kagura had bit the vampire's hand and drove him off before he fully finished. Now that she was certain, Falis replaced the bandage and, without thinking about it, stroked her figners once through Kagura's hair in a calming motion.
"All done," she said. "Thank you."

The princess hadn't made any gasps or other noises, so maybe it was going to be ok. She already had enough to worry about with her curse acting as strangely as it was! She didn't need any more than that!

She paused for a moment, thinking things over while she finger combed her own long mane of blonde hair. "This being a land of ancient technology, until I find the vampire, I can't say for certain. There may be ones here that don't turn their victims into thralls. The ones I've dealt with before transmit their curse via bite, much ,like lycanthropes, but things may be different here. This one might only be capable of turning you if you ingest some of its blood as well."
She suddenly remembered Kagura had bit the vampire's hand. She met the girl's eyes quickly. "Tell me you didn't taste blood when you bit it."
no subject
"Ah... I don't... I don't really remember, I'm sorry Alita-hime!" Kagura looked woefully down at the floor. She really hoped this wasn't going to be anything serious. It only made her want to beat whoever had done it into a crying pulp!

"As for the sun... Thralls aren't effected by it which is why a lot of vampires make them so they can influence things that can only be accessed during the day." She shrugged. "Most vampire catch fire and turn to ash when in sunlight, but I've come across some old ones before that didn't seem effected by it." She rubbed her chin. "If I remember correctly, it takes several days for a human to be turned. If you suddenly start wanting your meat cooked rarer, feel funny after seeing blood or your teeth ever ache, let me know."
The princess gave Kagura a comforting smile. "I'll find it, Kagura; it's what I do. Tell me what you remember about its build, height, particular scent in the air...anything that can help me find it."
no subject
"Ah... um... I'll let you know," she assured the other girl. "I um... I don't know anything new really... they were taller than me... wearing white I think. But I don't remember any particular smells."
no subject
That is, if she had any information. The few details Kagura could give the bounty hunter were not particularly helpful, especially since Falis herself was taller than Kagura. There were a lot of people taller than Kagura.
"Where exactly were you when you were attacked? I need a place to start looking."
no subject
"It was right outside the room, in the first big hall. I'd just... barely stepped out and something hit me from behind and dragged me away," she said with some regret. While hitting from behind was a cowardly tactic, she should have sensed them coming at the very least. They had to be pretty good if she hadn't seen them at all.

Falis brow twitched as she tried to puzzle out what the hell Kagura was describing without just grabbing the girl's collar and shaking her while demanding she be more specific. The 'first big hall' was probably that hallway that went in between the patient blocks... but there weren't any rooms that lead out onto that from what the princess had seen. maybe she meant one of the halls at the end of the patient corridors that opened into the hall.
"O...kay... were you leaving the girls' area or the boys' area?"

Falis patted Kagura on the shoulder and grinned at her. 'Thanks. Now I can get to work on this tonight. Remember, you start feeling weird or anything, especially when night falls, you come to me right away. My room is F22," she said.
The blonde nodded. 'I'll get it. I will." She raised an eyebrow then. "Oh, and I won;t ask you what your curse is, cause you're not gonna tell me, but I do have some skill at breaking them. Keep that in mind."
The nurses were coming, so the princess stepped back and gave Kagura a confident smirk. "Later."
