Day 31: Sun Room (Fourth Shift)

Though perhaps not entirely as successful as he wanted it to be, Homura walked away from lunch feeling satisfied with his efforts. Roland and Fai both had shown interest in the goal, and that was enough for the moment. Homura could be patient, had already been for five hundred years, and felt no harm in waiting another five hundred if he had to. He would have his goals realized, no matter what obstacles he faced, be they from the prison or those trapped within.

But now was time for business of a different sort, and the demi-god made his way to the Sun Room, near the common board. He made sure he could be seen from the entrance to the cafeteria, knowing that one stranger and one member of his own group both wanted to meet with him. It worked out well enough, especially given that the stated purpose of the History Club was simple.

Revenge and escape.

For now, Homura had no intention of revealing that it'd grown more complicated than that.

Smile so bright it would have blinded the sun, Misa snuggled up to Light and put her head as far up his shoulder as she could.

"Misa met a real pirate at breakfast! He was nice and a little out of it because he was sick, I think, but he said his name was just Sanji! That's a little odd, don't you think? Are there a lot of people here who don't have last names?" To cover up the oddity of that statement, if anyone was around to hear or understand it, Misa added: "It's like what models and rock stars do! Hee. So strange. OH! And Sanji's your roommate right? He said that but I think he was getting a little dizzy so..."

"Gentlemen seem to have poor taste, then," Hikaru muttered back, quickly returning Kaoru's hug. "Now shh. We need to find out more about these 'nurse costumes' before we go after Yagami-san for his...preference."

This was priceless.

"What the- now they're just talking about pirate roommates," he whispered with a sigh. How were they supposed to draw the attention back to fashion without revealing themselves so soon?

"Is she really that dumb, d'you think?"
She had to be new. The Night Shift crushed everyone's spirits and it showed, even when they tried to hide it.

... Did she really have to cling to him like that? It was getting annoying. Light couldn't shrug her off, though, so he had to think of some other excuse to lean away from her. None were forthcoming. Damn it!

"Yes, Sanji-san is my roommate. I didn't know he was a pirate, though." A shame, that. He'd seemed like such a nice person. Light would reserve judgment until he learned more about just how close to his world's concept of piracy was to Sanji's, of course, but it was still disappointing. "That could explain why he doesn't have a last name, I think. It could also just be a quirk of the world he comes from, but it's hard to know for sure without asking him."

[identity profile] kirasonlyone.livejournal.com 2008-04-14 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh! Well... he has a pirate nickname too?" Misa cocked her head to the side. "Sanji the Black Leg! And he said he was a chef..." Maybe that meant he wasn't all bad? He'd been pretty nice to her, after all.

"So how was your day?" She gripped at Light's shirt with a bold hand and flushed slightly. Their bodies were so close together... and on a couch! Alone!

Misa looked up at Light and wondered if he was possibly thinking the same thing. How romantic~

[identity profile] totallytheseme.livejournal.com 2008-04-14 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Hikaru snickered behind his hand. "Yarr, matey." So maybe they wouldn't reveal themselves right this moment. They were getting absolutely perfect material for later on. Hopefully tonight, if Light and his girlfriend did end up at the Clinic. They could get Light alone, and then...

Tease him mercilessly. It would be wonderful.

...Or they could do that now. Hikaru eased up from where he was sitting, arms folded over the back of the couch and grinning like the Cheshire Cat. "Yeah, Yagami-san. How was your day?"

He fully expected Kaoru to chime in as soon as he finished talking.

[identity profile] hangenki.livejournal.com 2008-04-14 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Yagami-san? Ah, I thought it was Tamaki I could hear," Kaoru smiled, mirroring his brother's pose. "I see you've made a new friend, or...is she from back home?"
Kaoru's smile was only a fraction less menacing than his brother's.

... No, Light definitely wasn't thinking the same thing she was. He could guess what was going through Misa's mind, though, and he was just beginning to wonder why none of the nurses or orderlies were showing up to separate them when a familiar voice penetrated the "romantic" atmosphere surrounding the pair.

Hikaru couldn't have had better timing.

Jerking his head around to face the twins, Light gave the pair a half-irritated, half-embarrassed look before glancing down to see what Misa's reaction to all of this was. She couldn't be happy about the interruption, and while that in and of itself didn't particularly bother him, if she threw a tantrum because their time together had been "ruined," he didn't want to have to deal with it. He wouldn't be the target of her anger, yes, but unless he could leave the room or go temporarily deaf, he wouldn't be immune to her whining.

"... Misa, this is Hitachiin Hikaru-kun and Kaoru-kun. Hikaru-kun and Kaoru-kun, this is Amane Misa, my girlfriend." That should probably keep them happy for now, but Light wasn't naive enough to think that it would make what was destined to be one of his more awkward conversations in this place anymore enjoyable.

[identity profile] kirasonlyone.livejournal.com 2008-04-15 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Eep!" The appearance of the twins startled Misa and she spun around in her seat, clutching at her heart dramatically. They'd been all alone just a moment ago! Wah!

Be nice, Misa. They obviously know Light...

"O-Oh, hello!" Clutching at Light tighter and actually tugging at his arm to pull him closer, Misa tried her best to keep the irritation off her face with a respectful enough nod-bow. "It's very nice to meet the two of you!"

They were so well coordinated, though! They way they mirrored one another, it was almost like they were performing. Annoyed as she was, she couldn't help but blink up at them in curiosity. "Did you just say Tamaki? OH! Are you the twins from his court?"

[identity profile] totallytheseme.livejournal.com 2008-04-15 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oh ho. So he admitted it, did he? Yagami Light, the quiet intellectual type, was dating a girl who looked like she belonged in a Maid Cafe or something. Hikaru smiled even more cheekily (if that was possible) and leaned forward. He bowed slightly, and that was the closest thing to a polite introduction that Misa was going to get. "Hi."

He raised an eyebrow, artfully incredulous. "Yeah, we know Tamaki. Is he telling people he's a knight again? We aren't from his 'court.' We go to school together. He's our senpai. Club president."

[identity profile] hangenki.livejournal.com 2008-04-15 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
Kaoru copied he's brothers actions and greeting perfectly.
Yagami Light, the guy pretending to be nothing but a perfect role model, was dating this.... this. It was pretty, but it didn't seem so bright. She must satisfy some of Light's special needs. And she was probably a massive ego stroke too, come to think of it.
He looked to his brother, there was no way Hikaru was letting Light get away with this.

"The only thing he's King of is fools."
Admittedly the twins and the rest of the Host Club occasionally fell under that category.

Kaoru smiled to Misa, opting to be kinder to her now. If only to try and understand and destroy her all the better. "Misa, you're cute! I bet Light-san has a hard time keeping you to himself!"

[identity profile] godhood.livejournal.com 2008-04-15 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
All right, so maybe he'd been better off before they'd interrupted. At least then she hadn't been tugging at him as much.

He ran his free hand through his hair, looking distinctly uncomfortable now that the twins were, however subtly, interrogating Misa. It was all too easy to guess what they were thinking, and while he honestly couldn't fault them for some of it, that didn't make the rest any less aggravating. He didn't like being judged on partial information, but since it was better than the alternative, it wasn't like he could say as much, was it?

That wasn't Light's main concern, though; sooner or later, he just knew one of them was going to get the bright idea to start quizzing either him or Misa-- most likely Misa, judging by the way they were focusing on her now and by how much more likely it was that she'd let something potentially embarrassing slip-- on how they met, their relationship, and so on. With how much of that was tied into the Kira case, he knew most of it would have to be made up on the spot, and although he was fully capable of this, Misa wasn't. He'd likely need to interrupt at some point, and while he knew the twins wouldn't like that, with how much ammunition they were getting already, he was sure they'd be able to cope.

Well, there was a bit of information overload. Misa looked from one twin to the other, then to Light, then back to the twins again. What to answer first?

The more important one, of course.

"Of course not!" Misa addressed the one who spoke second. "How could you say something like that?! Light's my One True Love and the only person I could ever think of being with!" Thus saying, she pressed closer to Light as if assuring him that she was still there. Then, frowning severely, she turned to the other twin and muttered a quick: "And what do you mean? Are you saying Tamaki's not a real knight?"

She was so very confused.
